“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” - John Lubbock

An invitation:

Hot summer sunlight warms the aged bricks that form our path. Impossible to resist, we place a palm to the bricks, letting the warmth gently transfer into our hands, filling us up with the comforting strength of the sun’s rays; a reminder of its power; of its life affirming gifts.

A quiet breeze drifts through rustic window sills; a complementary reprieve from the midsummer heat.

This is our summertime sanctuary.

We spread out on the grass which remains cool to the touch, despite the insistent sun.

Leaning back into the breeze, thoughts move in and out of our minds like clouds.

Lost in a daydream, fully enveloped by this moment.

Today, there is no accounting for time.

This is our summertime sanctuary.
