Recipe: Simple Edible Flower Popsicles

Recipe: Simple Edible Flower Popsicles

Here in our hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, we’re right in the middle of a heatwave. It’s been two weeks (with no end in sight) of blistering heat, humidity, and temperatures above 30°C.

Don’t worry! We’re not complaining. We get very few hot days up here in the Canadian prairies and we spend almost 8 months of the year shivering, so we’re not ones to hide indoors when the heat finally hits.

However, we do have to find some respite from these hot, hazy afternoons and we’re happy to share our favourite warm weather treat with all of you!

If you‘re also living in a climate of extra hot temperatures – or if you’re just one who loves a cold snack, we’ve got a delicious and flavourful recipe for pink lemonade popsicles that look almost as good as they taste.

We added some beautiful AND edible florals to ours to make them extra pretty – but really, lemonade and a few hours in the freezer is all you need for a cold snack on a hot day.

What you’ll need:

Popsicle moulds

Pitcher of pink lemonade

Edible flowers of your choice*

How to make the popsicles:

Pour lemonade in popsicle moulds leaving about 1/4” at the top for expansion.

Add flowers to the lemonade. If flowers remain at the top use popsicle stick to push flowers further down into the moulds.

Place sticks into the moulds and freeze overnight.

To remove popsicles from moulds run under cold water. Enjoy!

*Types of edible flowers:

Pansies

Marigolds

Violas

Nasturtiums

Chamomiles

Lavenders

Elderflowers

Dandelions
