A Holiday Gift Guide – With a Little Help from our Friends

A Holiday Gift Guide – With a Little Help from our Friends

The season of giving is upon us and we thought it would be a great idea to resource some beautiful and talented minds, locally and abroad – to help us with a fun gift guide. Here are their selections for the season, and without us asking, they’ve even kindly selected a few pieces from our shop!

Thom and Graham

Thom Bargen Coffee & Tea
Winnipeg, Manitoba

Thom Bargen coffee & tea opened its first location six years ago in the West Broadway neighbourhood of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since, they have opened two more locations in Winnipeg’s downtown. Partnering with other local businesses with similar passions for design, comfort, and quality has been a large part of their story. And, we’re thrilled to be their new neighbours – just a door away – on Kennedy Street. For those coffee enthusiasts and avid cyclists, here are their top gift ideas that you can pick up at any of their locations.

• Enamel cups – great travel/cycle/tough mug for on the road.

• Ergonomic essentials – a hand grinder and aero press – always good for a bike trip.

• Their coffee pick for the season – Geisha coffee from Panama – like a fine wine, this bean and roast is beautiful and complex – a gift that can be shared.

Our picks for coffee lovers:

Hario Coffee Drip Pot Woodneck

Woven Jute Trivet

Textured Wood Coffee Scoop

Amanda Jane Jones

Freelance Graphic Designer, Art Director, and Letter Press Artist
Chicago, Illinois

Amanda Jane Jones is the talented hand and mind behind JUNE’s brand identity. She has worked with the likes of Kinfolk, Warby Parker, Gap, and Artifact Uprising – so, needless to say, we are very honoured to have connected with her and to have had her influence on the brand. Her list comprises of a few of her favourite things to gift from our shop, inspired by those who love anything print-related, and as a mom of two – a few unique goodies that would be perfect for a little one in your life.

Gillian Stevens

Editorial and Lifestyle Photographer
Vancouver, British Colombia

Gillian Stevens is a Vancouver-based lifestyle photographer and the eye behind some of our most striking lifestyle photography. You can see her work featured in a workshop collaboration she captured this past June (fitting) in the UK using some some of our product – you can find it in our Journal. We wanted her thoughts on gifts that she would love to have in her studio, and her ideas for what to get often the most difficult to buy for – parents!

Heather Page

Florist
Academy Florist
Winnipeg, Manitoba

The lovely Heather Page is a formally trained floral designer who currently works at the busy retail shop – Academy Florist in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We are always so drawn to her work, which expresses a romantic yet refined, simplified aesthetic – often using only a few varieties of stems, allowing for the drama of their structure to truly shine. We asked for her advice on what to bring to the host of the many parties you’ll likely be attending this holiday season.

For the Host:

• Flowers, of course. Try fresh winter greens or a holiday bloom such as a stem of amaryllis presented in a round glass vase. The Amber Bottles are also sweet vessels to present flowers in.

• If you’re bringing a bottle of wine, tie a sprig of greens or Noah Bells around the neck.

Brass Circles are a perfect support for winter greens, simply tied on to make a lovely little wreath.

And, as a new mom this year, these are her selections for little ones:

Linen Stocking

Little French Car

Natural Stacker

Natural Blocks – 30 pcs

Bottle Brush

Cleaning Brushes – Set of 5
